A train of philosophical thoughts

Hello again guys!:)

Today's post might be a little bit odd to you as it does not resemble the previous ones as much. I hope that it will be as interesting to you as the others (my modesty is showing, isn't it? *shameful sigh*) and it will simply push you to share your own opinions and observations or some personal experience you've collected so far.
This post is going to be a set of interior, philosophical questions, most of which I leave without any answers given as I am looking for them myself. Those personal sentiments, which I would like to share with you, concern love and hatred, undoubtedly ones of the strongest feelings we, human beings, have ever experienced in our lives. The power which is hidden in their names is horrifying. Isn't it scary how many of us have subordinated to it obediently, without uttering a word of protest, carelessly, thoughtlessly? Isn't it scary how many of us have let them, consciously, snuck to our hearts and order us around? At the beginning of my monologue, I would like to pay your attention only to love as it is, unquestionally, a positive sensation lots of people crave for. I believe you all have noticed how quickly it resuscitates a broken heart after a dissapointement, how easily it persuades people to sacrifice, without a single thought, for their loved ones. Maybe you have witnessed how suddenly it made people fearless when the life of a person they loved were put at risk. It does it so naturally and no one can resist it. How is that possible that in one second it can chase away all your hesitations and give you the strength to fight like a lion, against all the odds, just to make that one person safe and sound? Love, the queen among the feelings. Nevertheless, there is something pretty worrying when it comes to love. A line which separates it from hatred, its opposition. 'A thin line' people say but is it really possible that in one minute love can turn into burning hatred? Is it possible to suddenly hate a person you loved with all your heart, just a moment ago? Or maybe it is people who mistake it with anger, which immediately sets everything on fire, erases all the precious memories, silences love and then lets hatred devour the heart. It is scary how it invades our mind, it is scary how quickly it stoles the keys, kept so carefully by love, and opens a cage to free our inner beast which wants nothing but destroy. People believe that only love can pit itself against hatred, only love can defeat it. I believe in that too. I guess only love can truly relieve the pain and heal a wounded heart. The question is how it actually does it? Oh, I guess it will always be a mistery for human beings.
That's all for today, I hope my personal thoughts have awaken your inner sentiments you would like to share with me!;) Bye!;)

Husk and its wise message about life

A warm hello to all of my dear, patient readers!;)

Without any unnecessary introductions, I would love to present you a game which in my opinion involves a pretty important issue and breaks an old, prevalent stereotype, made and spread thoughtlessly by our society. Husk is a new creation of a polish studio called UndeadScout, the people who were partially responsable for Kholat (which I highly recommend for those of you who love unconventional horror games with a gripping plot). So let's look attentively at the storyline which is hidden behind the title Husk. It concentrates on the man who sinks into a coma after a horrible rail accident. He is locked in a world crafted by his own mind, in a place which used to be his hometown. It is based on his childhood recollections, accompanied by monsters which symbolise his personal fears. During his journey, the man comes across objects and visits places constituting mementos which awake painful memories slowly revealing his sad past. It turns out that the father of our main character was an alcoholic and he mistreated him and his mother. We, the observers, are given a picture of a man who caused nothing but pain, who abused of his loved ones and, what's worse, he blamed them for his behaviour. Later, the man uncovers his own sins as the ghosts of the past and remorse are getting stronger. We see that even though he deeply hated his father for what he had done to him and his mom, he repeated his mistakes. He was, himself, an alcoholic who hit his wife, the women he loved with all his heart. As the story comes slowly to its end, the man recovers consciousness and finds out that his wife, after months of visiting him, decided to move on and leave him. While being in a coma and wandering around the world from the darkest nightmares he heard a chunks of long monologues his beloved said as she was sitting next to his hospital bed. She claimed that even though he had mistreated her she loved him but she is exhausted of it and wanted to free herself from him. In the last scene, the man admits that he truly deserved it and that it was his own choice to do exactly the same what he father did.
I believe it is an important lesson. I love that producers show that our past, other people, tragic events influence us but they do not determine us. Against the common belief, it is us who decide to what degree we permit our environement and particular events to modify our true self, to change our personality or attitude towards others. In the end of the day it is our choice which path we will choose to follow and what people we will become. The creators of the storyline should be praised for proving that statements like this one: 'I drink because my father drank' don't make sense because it is you who willingly inherited your parent's bad habit, it is you who willingly repeated your parent's mistakes. It is such a great, wise message about life which we should keep in our minds.

I highly recommend this game for those of you who love this kind of entertainment. The graphic is really pretty, maybe it is not a masterpiece but it truly deserves to be seen at least because of the incredible message it carries. That's all for today, if you have other opinion or want to add something new, please do it!;) Bye!;)

To understand a villain

Hi my dear readers!:)

It is so nice to welcome you after such a long break! I hope that you didn't lose your interest in my blog and you visited it occasionally to check if something new popped out. I am so sorry that I made you wait so horribly long for a next post, I hope this blank period didn't put you off and you are still there, ready to read and share your opinions!;)

Today I want to pay your attention to the creation of villains which are usually much more interesting and complex characters than heros (in the contest of good men, the opposite of wicked people in the plot). Firstly, I would like to point out that lots of book's, comic's or manga's readers sympathise more with villains than with any other hero in the story. I believe that this prohibited love for those considered as bad has its source in the fact that they are much more real to us than heros who are often perfect human beings without any flaws, who undoubtedly symbolise good and justice and their actions are always praised by other characters in the plot. Moreover, villains are such complicated creatures, whose personality and aims are usually wrong received by readers as they are presented as cold heart bastards who manipulate others, who destroy, who bring death with every step they take. So how is it possible that lot of people give their hearts to villains? Is it morally correct to love someone who's a bad person? Well, those are pretty difficult questions to answer. Personally I really appreciate those spectacular moments in the stories when the truth is revealed, when the author present the horrible past which influenced those considered as cruel and heartless, we can see the events which crashed them, damaged their true personality. Villains are like a shattered glass to me, they are usually people with wounded souls, the ones who live in constant pain looking for someone to rescue them, to understand. I really love stories where authors show you, after a pretty long time, that this person, this scary villain that you probably have hated so much since the very beginning, that he actually loved someone in his life as much as all those good heros you met earlier. Then they present you a period which illustrates his true self, his broken heart, the saddness that overwhelmed him, the tears and the emptiness which still devour him from the inside, the memories that still poison his thoughts. Afterwards, you sit there with a book in your hands and you feel this incredible heartache in your chest that you judged him wrong and you never asked him in your head: what is your story that you hide so carefully behind this mask? Of course bad past doesn't exculpate someone's bad actions, it doesn't allow a person to hurt others, not at all, but it can help to understand human's behaviour, to understand how does it happen that people change. Naturally this type of villains I've mentionned doesn't involve all of them, you can meet a pretty different ones as the story unfolds. I would say that this category is my favourite, that is a villain who's not a monster at heart, but man in pain, bearing with loneliness, fighting everyday with his own nightmares. In my post I do not want to convince you that heros are flat characters or that they are always the same, no, there is many great stories where their personality is amazingly built and whose past didn't spare them and even though it was bad they didn't let it affect their hearts. However, villains are, in my opinion, the odd ones out and much more interesting characters (at least from psychological point of view) and they require a deeper reflection to understand them.

I hope the issue I brought was interesting to you! If you have some objections or personal remarks please share!;) That's all for today! Bye!;)

The other side of commercials

Hi guys!:)
Today's post is going to be about advertisements. The first, the most elementary question is who among us likes when a commercial suddenly pops out on the screen interrupting the movie we are currently watching or when it appears out of the blue while we are reading something on a website? I guess nobody. Advertisements seem to be the biggest scourge of our times and a real plague in the Internet, you can come across them practically everywhere. However, there are commercials which, believe me or not, can capture your heart by the message they are carring. Those type of advertisements does not really promote any product but, above all, they appeal to our sensitivity or try to awake  it in us somehow. Some people may say that those commercials use this unquestioned manipulative strategy to simply grab our attention but in my opinion, it is not so obvious. Do they actually draw our attention? Yes, there is no doubt about it but in my opinion there are made to change a little bit our perception of the world or some common beliefs which are harmful towards some group of people. What I have in mind is for exemple commercials produced by Dove and Always companies, the ones people cannot see in the television. They usually present some adult women or young girls being asking questions which are made on purpose to break the stereotypes and convince the audience that being a female does not mean being weak, worse, less inteligent or that it does not determinate your position in the society, like what profession you should have or what your interests should be and that females can compete with men in everything. If you haven't seen those commercials, I really recommend you to check them out, they are worth spending time! Now, I would also like to make a short comment on the polish, christmas advertisement made by Allegro which moved the hearts of the people all around the world. It is about the old man who orders online a manual of english for beginners to learn the language and at the end of the commercial we find out what was the reason of him doing it. It is truly a masterpiece among the advertisements, incredibly touching and it reflects perfectly the reality we are living in. I do not want to spoil the commercial so those of you who didn't see it, can go and watch it:) It is all for today, see ya in the next post! Bye!:)

I got a faith in you babe!

Welcome in a brand new year guys!:)

I hope all of you spent this Christmas in the company of your loved ones and that the last day of 2016 went as you planned without any terrible, unexpected events. Today I would like to draw your attention to the new animated movie Sing, made by Illumination. It is pretty interesting production which really stands out from their previous ones and some of the statements said by its characters can easily move the coldest of hearts. Firstly, the animation is really pretty, the utilisation of neon lights and such a wide range of colours makes a beautiful effect! Since the music plays a crucial role in the movie, it accompanies you practically all the time, building an appropriate atmosphere of the scene. Now, the most important part which is the plot. So, the main character of Sing is a koala called Buster Moon, the owner of a theater who struggles with serious finance problems. One day the hero cames up with an idea of organising a singing competition which would attract audiance, bring the theater back to life and safe it from being taken over by bank. What is really interesting is that all the animals who passed positively the audition, deal with some problems in their own personal life and they hope to resolve them. The stongest side of the movie is undoubtedly the beautifully presented relationship between Buster and Eddie which could serve as a model of how the true friendship should look like. I also remember that there was a scene where the main character told Eddie what he is really scared of in his life and immediately my eyes welled up with tears and in that moment I thought 'me too'. I am not going to tell you what were Buster's words not to spoil the movie for those who haven't seen it yet but they are willing to watch it.
To sum up, I really recommend you this movie, it is such a great production! It is worth spending time and money so go and check it! Oh! and the title of the post is the lyrics of the song called 'Faith' made by Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande which promotes the movie! It's all for today, see ya in the next post! Bye!:)

Love on ice!

Hi guys!:)

Today I would like to affect you with my growing love to Yuri on ice, an anime so sweet and pure it makes my heart melts everytime the new episode comes out. The story revolves around Yuri Katsuki, a Japanese young man whose great passion has been ice skating since early childhood. Our main character wants to accomplish his biggest dream which is to win first place in senior international figure skating competitions.
On the last Championships Yuri failed horribly, his performance was nothing but mistakes and missteps. The jury gave him so little points, he took the last place. Yuri, highly dissapointed with himself, completely lost the motivation and willingness to continue practicing skating. He was so pursued by the awful memory of his last performance, he abandoned the sport he loved so much. After few months Victor Nikiforov, the star of figure skating from Russia, saw in the Internet a video of Yuri's performance posted by one of his closest friends. It was the first time Yuri put on the ice skates since the memorable Championships. The video presented Yuri without cameras and audience, just a young man skating so freely and calmly, putting his whole heart in every move and figure he was making. Victor was absolutely astonished by Yuri's skills and on the next day he came to Japan to meet him and to become his coach. Yuri was incredibly flattered by Victor's proposition since the russian ice skater has always been his inspiration and role model. With Victor by his side, Yuri became much more motivated and once again he derived happiness from the sport he had treasured so much. What is really worth paying attention to is the way the relationship between those two men is presented in the anime. You can observe love slowly blooming between Yuri and Victor, so pure and sweet, full of cuddles and soft kisses.

I really recommend you to check out this anime! If you are a fan of figure skating you will be astonished how amazingly the performances are presented! The beautiful art of Yuri which you can see in the post belongs to Shiza, an incredible artist from tumblr! Please visit her blog *click here*! That's all for today! See you next time! Bye!:)
